Internationalisation
In the academic year 2016-2017, the History degree was expanded with an English track. This has resulted in a growth of international students within the UHSK, a development that we value highly. To welcome international students and to make them feel at home, we have set up various projects.
International Committee
The International Committee is a good example of the steps that the association wants to take in order to make these students feel at home. The committee consists largely of international students and creates a platform for inclusion. At the start of every academic year, the committee organises the International Day, a day when all international students are invited to fun activities. Moreover, the committee is well-known for their Language Cafés, drinks during which all members learn new languages. From English and Dutch to French and Russian, you do not leave without expanding your vocabulary.
Confidential advisers
We have two good confidential advisers within the UHSK. Both have been trained to lend a sympathetic ear. One of the confidential advisers is responsible for the group of international students. This person has knowledge of the problems that are specific to internationals and is a great contact person because of this.
International Document
Below, you will find the International Document, a guide for new international students. The document clarifies all aspects of the Dutch student life that can confuse internationals, from education to bikes.
