The UHSK's Education Committee focuses on all kinds of education-related affairs and organises activities to make the teaching more fun and more effective. These activities therefore mainly consist of field trips and exam training. In this way, the committee hopes to make it more enjoyable to study the programme content.
Every period, the committee will arrange an excursion that specifically focuses on a particular first-year subject. During the exam training, first-year students are also given a good idea of how to approach exams and how to optimise their learning.
The UHSK for Better Education focuses on improving education. At the end of courses, they organise various course panels in which students and lecturers can discuss how the course could be improved. In addition, the annual Teaching Evaluation Day is held, during which students can share their visions on education with lecturers.
Finally, the committee also nominates one lecturer to receive the UU Lecturer Award. In the past, lecturers such as Laurien Crump have been successfully nominated for the Lecturer Talent Award.
